The actress has talked about her cricket hosting experience earlier as well. And now once again she has said a lot on this matter in an interview.
Mandira recently gave an interview to Curly Tales. During this, the actress recalled the 2003 Cricket World Cup. She told that she was then hired by Sony as the first female cricket presenter. But the actress was then stopped by Sony from reading people’s comments.

Mandira said in her interview, “At that time we did not have social media where you could see people’s comments. We had the internet, but not like today. Sony kept me away from all this. She said, you are not allowed to know what people are saying. She stopped all this for me.
What I have learnt from my time in cricket is that there will be people in life who will like you and then there will be people in life who will not like you. So be grateful to those who like you and don’t try to please those who don’t.

The actress further said, ‘In 2002, India defeated England and made it to the semi-finals of a tournament called Champions Trophy…Now, since I love cricket, I decided to go to Sri Lanka to watch the match. So, I booked a ticket for myself and reached there.’
Acting career was adversely affected
Mandira also told that she had become quite famous as a cricket anchor. However, this had a bad effect on her acting career. She stopped getting work. She told, ‘After that, I was only getting anchoring offers and everyone forgot that I was an actress, and that I had acted for eight years before.’
When cricketers used to stare at Mandira
In one of her old interviews, Mandira had said that cricketers used to keep staring at her during the pre-match show. When she used to ask them a question, they used to say what kind of question is this. Many times she used to get scared by the childish antics of cricketers. Many times, people sitting in the panel also used to behave badly with her.
